Reared in Norfolk, Nebraska and currently residing in San Diego, California, I've met people who have had an influence on me at every point in between. The priceless experience of a childhood in Nebraska exposed me to a wealth of character material and a lot of damn nice people.
In addition to the indelible imprint left by midwestern sensibilities, I’ve been fortunate enough to have done time in the U.S. Marine Corps, college (Go Aztecs!), and law school, each of which provided unique experiences, interesting observations on life, and at the very least, potential character composites.
After several false starts and wanting to write for a long time, I dove in, thanks to a thoughtful nudge from my wife. Unwittingly, she has become the sole beneficiary of my annoying, but hopefully marginally entertaining observations and early-stage (see: ridiculous) ideas, as the quest to unearth the next plot rages on.
When I'm not writing, I’m usually reading a rotation of four or five books--strategically placed throughout the house--that range in subject matter depending on my mood and purpose. Aside from that, I love movies-watching them, quoting them, etc., live music-especially blues, hearing my wife sing, the privilege of being a father and all that that entails, and watching soccer and college football.
